What are Exclusive mortgage schemes?

Lenders recognise that the teaching profession is secure and offers long term career progression. Quite simply this makes you a low risk applicant. In order to attract your business a lender may offer enhanced flexibility, which could mean lending more against your income or reducing the deposit you might need. Many lenders offer mortgages with no deposit to Teachers combined with reduced application fees.

From time to time, lenders may offer preferential interest rates to Teachers and your Smaart Associates adviser will inform you about these schemes.

How can Smaart Associates help?

As your Mortgage Broker we have access to the whole mortgage market and we will compare the products in the general mortgage market to those only available to Teachers. Where an exclusive mortgage scheme is most appropriate we have the expertise and experience to ensure that your application is dealt with quickly. By using Smaart Associates you will benefit from our expert advice and professional service, this will reduce the hassle involved in applying for your mortgage on your own.

  • Shared Ownership - Home Buy
Shared ownership was introduced to help people who cannot afford to buy a home outright. Through shared ownership you buy a share of the property and pay a rent on the remaining share you do not own. Gradually you may buy further shares and eventually own your home outright.
The scheme is intended for people who cannot afford to buy a suitable home in any other way. They must be in housing need and be unable to afford outright purchase. Priority will normally be given to existing public sector tenants or those on local authority or social landlords waiting lists. Read More - Government Website
