A fixed rate mortgage means that your interest rate is fixed for an agreed period of time. As you will know exactly what your repayments will be, budgeting for your mortgage repayments is made much easier.
Each lender will have its own lending policy influencing things like the amount you can borrow and what options you might have when you want to move home in the future. Lenders arrangement fees can be a big proportion of your Purchase or Remortgaging costs, some lenders also charge non refundable fees when you apply for your mortgage.
